The annual application period for community tourism sponsorships through the Huntsville City Lodging Tax Association (HMATA) is now open.
What is Community Tourism Sponsorship?
If you are planning a tourism-related event or project between October 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025, this funding may be for you. Community tourism sponsorships, made possible by the City Accommodation Tax (MAT) paid by visitors to local hotels, motels, resorts, and short-term rental accommodations, support efforts by local organizations and initiatives that benefit Huntsville’s tourism economy. This will help grow Huntsville’s tourism industry. .
Who can apply?
Both nonprofit and private businesses in the Town of Huntsville can apply for support for events and projects within Huntsville. Organizations outside of Huntsville that organize events that have a significant economic impact on Huntsville may also apply. Events held at any time of the year will be considered, but priority will be given to events during the shoulder season or winter, and mid-week events.
