Tourism Minister David Collado, who attended the event in Cuba, took the opportunity to meet with Brazil’s Tourism Minister Celson Sabino to discuss the strategic relationship and tourism prospects between the two countries.
This meeting is based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in February 2024 between the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism (Mitul) and the Federal Republic of Brazil. The MoU aims to foster cooperation in tourism development between the two countries, including the institutional and private sectors. . This includes exchanging information, promoting training and promoting tourism investment.
This initiative is expected to facilitate tourist flows between Brazil and the Dominican Republic, foster cultural exchanges, and align positions in international forums.
“Together with Minister Celson Sabino, we are working to strengthen the relationship between our two countries and explore future tourism opportunities,” Collado said, underscoring the importance of strengthening ties with regional partners.
Accompanying Collado during the meeting was Carlos Andres Peguero, Mitur’s deputy minister for international cooperation. The MoU was signed by Patricia Villegas de Jorge, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Brazil, on behalf of both the organizations and countries involved.
