SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Home Page) — The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce held this month’s membership luncheon at the Fort Concho Stables. This month’s speakers were from the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce’s Destination Marketing organization and focused on San Angelo tourism. More than 1 million people will visit San Angelo in 2023, and last year’s visitors contributed more than $3 million to San Angelo’s economy, according to figures from the chamber.
The Destination Marketing Organization also shared new initiatives for marketing urban heritage. “We will also be rolling out a formal strategic marketing plan for the DMO and our Cowboy and Creative arm, the Chamber,” said Jeremy Bartz, vice president of destination marketing. He continued, “It evokes the history and heritage of the city itself and merges with everything else we’re doing right now in today’s world. So we’re going from 1867 to 2024. , all of that mixed together, we actually have some outstanding creative talent here in the city of San Angelo.”
Art is a hallmark of San Angelo, and Discover San Angelo’s Artist of the Quarter program continues this year at the San Angelo Visitor Center. Artworks in a variety of mediums created by local artists, including paintings, ceramics, and sculptures, rotate every three months and can be viewed at the center.
