Elche’s hotels are very pleased with the tourism data for 2024 published by the local tourist association AETE.
Hotel occupancy rate reached 85.5% in April, 1 percentage point higher than April 2023 and 4.5 percentage points higher than March 2024.
In terms of profitability, the average price per room in April was €73.37, roughly the same as in April 2023, with a slight increase of 9 cents.

Compared to March 2024, this represents an increase of 1.27 euros.
The Elche Tourism Association (AETE) offered a positive outlook, pointing out that occupancy rates and room prices had improved compared to 2023, despite the fact that April included Holy Week.
This will continue the trend of improving occupancy rates and average prices year-over-year and month-over-month through 2024.
Occupancy rates were highest on weekends.
Broader trends
AETE noted that the favorable tourism situation is not specific to Elche but is part of a broader trend.
Nationally, occupancy rate in March was 55.1 percent, average price was €109.18 and average length of stay was 2.9 days.
Looking ahead, May is expected to show stable performance, with improved occupancy rates and average prices, coinciding with the typical tourist season.
Elche’s tourism sector aims to offer a more competitive and attractive experience.
