The World Economic Forum (WEF) has released a list of the best countries to consider as travel and tourism destinations for 2024, based on factors such as infrastructure, national resources, sustainability, and price.
This list does not take into account the actual experiences of travelers or tourists.
Where does the United States rank among the best countries for tourism?
According to the World Economic Forum’s Travel & Tourism Development Index, the United States will be the best-performing country in travel and tourism in 2024.
The WEF said the U.S. tourism market is well developed and already has systems in place to ensure a smooth travel experience for visitors, including services such as tour guides, car rentals and hotel accommodations.
The USA has a wide variety of attractions, from natural attractions like beaches and national parks to urban experiences, and its large land area also contributes to its high ranking.
One of the negative aspects mentioned for the country is the possibility of a labor shortage in the tourism sector, which has been largely caused by the pandemic, forcing many employees to seek employment in other sectors.

The United States is the only North American country to make it into the top 10, while Canada narrowly missed out on making the list in 11th place.
The ranking is dominated by European countries, with six countries making the list. The highest ranking among them is Spain, which comes in second. It is pointed out that the extensive railway network makes the country an attractive destination for travelers.
The next highest ranking European country is France in fourth place, as the country is busy preparing to host the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.
