Seychelles tourism consultant Alain Saint-Ange met with veteran journalist Wolfgang Thome in Uganda to strengthen tourism ties ahead of the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo.
Seychellois tourism consultant Alain St-Ange, who is in Uganda this week to take part in the Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE), paid a courtesy call on Wolfgang Thome of ATC News. The two have been friends for many years and have always followed each other’s work and involvement in tourism.
The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is considered East Africa’s premier tourism event and the Seychelles tourism heavyweight and former Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Ports and Marine from the island is visiting Uganda at the invitation of the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Tom R. Buttime.
He will be joining other members of the African Tourism Board delegation visiting Uganda for the important tourism event.
St Ange, who was the founding Chairman of the African Tourism Board and now heads his own St Ange Tourism Consultancy, which works with tourism boards and ministries in Africa and ASEAN countries to reassess tourism as a key economic industry and to raise the profile of destinations so they can remain competitive in key source markets, was welcomed by Wolfgang Thomi and his wife Estelle at their home in Kampala.
“It was great to be reunited with great friends and enjoy their family-like hospitality. We reminisced about different meetings over the years, with a special look at the current tourism situation,” said Alain Saint-Ange, adding that the long-standing experience of key tourism players should never be ignored.
