Faster check-in
The Hilton Honors app allows members to completely bypass the traditional check-in process at a hotel front desk, allowing them to skip the reception line after a long-haul flight and go directly to their room.
“Evolution of the Hilton Honors app also includes digital check-in, which allows guests to not only avoid the check-in desk altogether, but also allows them to choose the room that’s right for them,” says Michael. “So some guests may want the room closest to reception, while others may want a room on a higher floor or away from the elevators, which means fewer guests have to walk through the door.”
Extra comfort
Hilton is also focusing on room interior design to promote optimal sleep hygiene, including offering weighted blankets and lavender pillow mist, the brand said. “Our aim is to give our guests choice and control over how they sleep at night,” Michael said.
White noise machines, calming botanical teas and eye masks will also be provided to guests, and sleep-focused packages are also available at various properties.
The Hilton Singapore Orchard treats guests to a “Sleep to Wake Ritual” that includes a sound bath, botanical tea and luxury linen, while the Conrad Bali boasts Sway Sleep Therapy, which incorporates a series of relaxation techniques in a cocoon hammock, and there’s also an extensive special pillow menu offering a list of sleep-inducing drinks and foods.
“We want our guests to feel a sense of calm from the moment they step into our hotels. For example, in some Waldorf Astoria hotels we offer a scent ritual upon check-in, helping guests to relax instantly,” says Michael. “We know that wellbeing is particularly important to our guests after a long flight and we have responded to this. For example, at Waldorf Astoria DIFC we have installed floatation tanks with programs designed to help guests combat jet lag. Whether for leisure or business, it is important to think about why our guests are staying with us and what we as a luxury hotel can do to make their stay as smooth and relaxing as possible.”
Hilton has partnered with Rebecca Robbins, assistant sleep scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, to further elevate the brand’s sleep programming and introduce new initiatives like “Sleep Retreats.”
