TEHRAN – Several Omani tourism experts have toured Iran’s Razavi Hospital and explored the hospital’s medical tourism potential to explore possibilities for future cooperation.
“As a result of mutual efforts to strengthen cooperation between the neighboring countries, a team of tourism activists from Oman has set foot in Mashhad,” Razavi Il reported on Tuesday.
The 60-member team visited Mashhad’s tourist and pilgrimage sites as well as inspected the city’s housing and medical facilities.
The visit focused on building future cooperation between Iranian and Omani counterparts, including Razavi Hospital and Sepehran Air, and focused on showcasing Mashhad’s prowess in the medical tourism sector.
The Omanis met with Dr Mohsen Mehwal, CEO of Razavi Hospital, to get acquainted with the wide range of services offered to patients, including the Nuclear Medicine Department and the International Patient Department (IPD).
Despite Mashhad being a known centre for medical tourism, the number of Omanis seeking medical services is limited.
The initiative is believed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the near future.
Notably, Razavi Hospital is one of the most advanced medical centres in the region, with various diagnostic and treatment departments and a skilled team of eminent professors and experts in various medical fields.
The clinic attracts the highest number of health tourists in the country and has won several awards in the past year, including the title of “National Exemplary Exporter in Health Tourism”.
