Jamaica’s Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, has launched a major multi-city marketing campaign in the United States.
This strategic initiative is aimed at strengthening partnerships and raising awareness of Jamaica as a premier tourism destination.
The campaign will be launched in New York where Minister Bartlett will take part in a series of key media interviews and attend events during Caribbean Tourism Organisation Week.
The event marks the organization’s 35th anniversary and will feature a range of vibrant activities and business meetings under the theme “Connecting the World and Celebrating Diversity.”
The tour will be extended to Chicago and Dallas, where the minister is scheduled to meet with executives from major airlines including JetBlue, Delta and United.

These meetings are part of efforts to sustain the growth and success of Jamaica’s tourism sector by strengthening existing relationships and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
Leveraging partnerships for sustainable growth
Through his work in the United States, Minister Bartlett stressed the importance of maintaining and expanding partnerships with key tourism stakeholders in the United States, Jamaica’s largest sending market.
This market accounts for 74% of tourists visiting Jamaica. By strengthening these relationships, Jamaica has seen a steady increase in tourist numbers, achieving 4% growth year-over-year.

Results and Predictions: A Vibrant Tourism Sector
Jamaica’s tourism industry is experiencing unprecedented success with record visitor numbers.
In 2023, the island is expected to welcome more than four million tourists.
The momentum continued into 2024, with over 2 million visitors recorded in the first four months alone.
This year, a total of 4.58 million tourists are expected to visit, with tourism receipts expected to grow by 9.6 percent to about US$4.38 billion.
