TEHRAN – The Governor of Mazandaran Province stressed the need to implement a coherent tourism strategy in the northern provinces.
Minister Yousef Noori made the remarks during a recent meeting with representatives of the private sector, where he stressed the need to transform the province’s comprehensive tourism plan into a workable package, Mojnews reported on Tuesday.
“Mazandaran’s comprehensive tourism plan must be transformed into a viable package. Historical houses and seaside mosques should be included in coastal destinations and sightseeing tours.”
Among other remarks, Nouri stressed that the tourism sector must move forward through careful planning. “Tourism requires strategic policy decisions and should move forward with a well-thought-out plan.”
His comments come at a time when Mazandaran province is focusing on leveraging its rich history and cultural heritage to attract more tourists, aiming to offer visitors a unique blend of culture and landscape by incorporating historic houses and coastal mosques into itineraries.
Mazandaran province, known for its stunning landscapes and Caspian Sea coast, plans to strengthen its tourism infrastructure to better serve domestic and international tourists. The implementation of a comprehensive tourism plan is expected to boost the local economy, create jobs and protect the province’s cultural heritage.
This picturesque province has long been a popular destination for domestic tourists. Its diverse nature features plains, grasslands, woodlands and rainforests stretching from the sandy shores of the Caspian Sea to the rugged, snow-capped Alborz Mountains, including Mount Damavand, one of the highest mountains and volcanoes in Asia. More than 800 registered historical-cultural sites, 338 km of coastline, jungle and mountain springs, waterfalls and caves are the province’s main tourist attractions.
