The school will run for 10 days and will be open to students of grades 9 and 10 from across the state.
The school also toured other locations in the state, including West Virginia University and the Blennerhassett Hotel.
The school group arrived in southern West Virginia on June 25th, staying at Summit Bechtel Conservation Area and enjoying time at New River Gorge National Park Conservation Area.
Students could choose between white water rafting, a jet boat ride or walking the Bridge Walk under the New River Gorge Bridge.

Here’s what the two students learned from their tour around the state.
“A lot of people moved here from West Virginia, so now we have a big tourism industry bringing in visitors, not just from far away. [also] “It’s important to keep people born in West Virginia in West Virginia,” student Sophie Awan said.
Another student, Jeremy Riggs, told 59News, “The tourism industry in West Virginia is bigger than you think. I didn’t even know half the places that I know.” [are] here.”
While some students may be looking at this summer as an opportunity to take a break from their parents, others are making the most of these 10 days of school.
“I’ve also been to Hatfield in Logan and McCoys Trail, so it’s opened my eyes to other jobs that may be out there,” Riggs said.
“I really enjoy working with people, I love advertising and I enjoy working with video, so I might go into tourism and hospitality advertising,” she added.
