The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s “Eco-Discovery of Wonderful Thailand” promotes sustainable tourism featuring award-winning experiences.
BANGKOK, Thailand – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has organised the “Amazing Thailand Eco-Discovery” product exhibition from 22 to 25 June 2024 to promote responsible tourism and enhance Thailand’s positive image as a sustainable tourism destination.
“The event showcased Thai tourism businesses that were recognised for outstanding quality and excellence in sustainable operations at the 14th Thailand Tourism Awards (TTA). The three-day event was designed to showcase the wealth of socially responsible tourism experiences in Thailand while highlighting the cultural values of Thailand’s soft power,” said Pathy Palmbonsenee, TAT’s regional secretary for ASEAN South Asia and the South Pacific.
The event brought together 24 travel professionals and 11 content creators, bloggers and influencers from ASEAN, South Asia and South Pacific markets to explore award-winning responsible tourism experiences in Chiang Rai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Samut Songkhram and Phetchaburi from 22-24 June.
In Chiang Rai, the itinerary included Chiang Saen Social Tourism Community Enterprise and Ban Tha Kang Thong Homestay, both of which are TTA Silver Award winners in the Attractions – Local and Community category.
In Nakhon Ratchasima, the route focuses on Ban Suk Somboon social tourism community enterprise, which received a TTA Silver Award in the Attractions – Local and Community category.
On the Samut Songkhram-Phetchaburi route, you can experience Baan Rim Khlong Homestay, which won a TTA Silver Award in the Attraction – Learning and Practice category, Bang Raikrang Tourism Community, which won a TTA Silver Award in the Attraction – Community and Community category, and Ban Tam Suea Homestay, which won a TTA Silver Award in the Low Carbon and Sustainability – Attraction category.
On June 25th, participants gathered at Sukosol Hotel in Bangkok for product information sessions, trade meetings and a networking dinner.
The product information session will provide a platform for international participants to exchange recommendations based on their first-hand experiences on each route. Case studies from the session will be taken into consideration to further develop products and services of award-winning Thai tourism enterprises to meet customer needs and wants.
Participants had the opportunity to learn more about CF-Hotels’ initiatives and TAT’s ongoing efforts to promote socially and environmentally responsible tourism.
The trade meeting session served as a marketing platform for 20 Thai tourism enterprises, including winners of the 14th Thailand Tourism Awards (TTA) and participants of the CF-Hotels initiative, to meet with overseas tourism professionals and discuss future business.
The event concluded with a networking and farewell dinner attended by 80 guests, including Thai tourism operators, international participants, strategic partners from the public and private sector, and local media representatives.
The event is expected to generate a reach of at least one million and further enhance Thailand’s positive image as a sustainable tourism destination.
