Air and Cruise Arrivals at All-Time Highs: A record number of tourists have flocked to the Turks and Caicos Islands this year. Both air and cruise arrivals are up significantly compared to 2023, and March was the busiest month ever for air travel. The United States is the main source of visitors.
Cruise Boom: Cruise ship arrivals are also breaking records, with April being the month with the most calls this year. May also saw a massive 73% increase in cruise passengers compared to May 2023.
Strong bookings and occupancy rates: The good news continues with tourist arrivals remaining strong through August, projected to be up 24% year-over-year. Turks and Caicos Islands boasts the highest occupancy rate in the Caribbean at 87%.
Luxury Resort Boom: To accommodate this surge in tourists, several new luxury resorts and residential developments are scheduled to open between 2024 and 2026. These will include stunning beachfront properties, sustainable options and the island’s first Hyatt offering.
VIBRANT TOURISM INDUSTRY: “Tourism in the Turks and Caicos Islands is at an all-time high,” said the Minister of Tourism. With over 1.5 million tourists expected in 2023, 2024 is off to a record-breaking start.
A favorite among U.S. travelers: The Turks and Caicos Islands further solidified its popularity by ranking as the most searched destination on Google Flights by U.S. couples and families, and was named a top five destination for summer 2024 among solo travelers.
Overall, the Turks and Caicos Islands are experiencing a tourism boom with strong growth, new developments, and increasing popularity among American travelers.
