The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism plans to hold a roadshow in Moscow and St. Petersburg in early July 2024 to attract Russian tourists and promote cultural exchanges in the post-pandemic era.
In early July 2024, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will conduct a major tourism roadshow in the Russian Federation. The strategic initiative aims to attract Russian tourists to Vietnam and rejuvenate tourism ties post-pandemic.
The roadshow will begin in Moscow on July 3 and continue in St. Petersburg on July 5. The events are designed to provide Russian tourists with the latest information on Vietnam’s tourism policies, developments and attractive tourist destinations tailored to their tastes.
The program includes a presentation detailing Vietnam’s tourism landscape, highlighting popular resort destinations such as Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet and Mui Ne. These destinations are well-known to be popular with Russian tourists, as evidenced by the significant increase in Russian tourists: 125,610 in 2023 and 95,000 in the first five months of 2024, a 175% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
Participants will also have the opportunity to experience traditional Vietnamese arts performances by artists from the Vietnam National Conservatory of Music and Vietnam Theatre of Contemporary Arts, which aim to deepen cultural understanding and showcase Vietnam’s rich heritage.
The roadshow is part of the Vietnam Culture and Tourism Days in the Russian Federation, organised to mark the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Basic Principles of Friendly Relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, under a broader framework that includes art performances, film screenings and exhibitions to strengthen understanding, friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Russia remains an important supply market for Vietnam’s tourism industry, further bolstered by the country’s favourable visa-free policy, which allows Russian nationals to stay in Vietnam for up to 45 days.
By promoting Vietnam’s diverse tourism attractions and cultural richness, the VNAT roadshow aims to strengthen the strong tourism ties between Vietnam and Russia, promote a steady inflow of tourists and foster deeper cultural exchanges.
