The UN Tourism Organization’s Brand Africa Regional Conference, taking place in Livingstone, Zambia, aims to foster collaboration, innovation and investment to strengthen Africa’s tourism sector and global competitiveness.
The UN Tourism organisation will bring together leaders from across the sector to highlight the importance of collaboration to unlock investment and growth potential across the region and amplify the voice of ‘Brand Africa’.
The second regional conference on Brand Africa (22 July, Livingstone, Zambia) will further UN Tourism’s efforts to support member states across the region in setting the course for the coming years. The conference will bring together member states, as well as associate members from civil society, business and other private sector leaders.
Promoting “Brand Africa”
The theme, “Facilitating Africa’s Tourism Investment and Unlocking the Growth Potential of the Tourism Sector”, highlights the importance of collaboration and innovation across the continent.
The conference will feature the Brand Africa Think Tank. This closed-door forum will bring together top CEOs, general managers of national tourism boards and private sector players. The focus will be on developing effective communication, marketing and branding strategies to rebuild market confidence and reinvigorate tourism in the post-pandemic era. The initiative aims to position Africa as a leading global tourism destination by highlighting the continent’s natural resources and cultural attractions.
Zambia-focused Investment Session
The conference will also feature a session focusing on global tourism investment trends with a special focus on Zambia. The session will provide insights into sustainable development opportunities and strategies to attract and secure tourism investment. Key points to be discussed at the conference include:

To conclude the conference, UN Tourism will launch the Zambia Business Guidebook, which provides insights and practical guidelines for sustainable development in Zambia’s tourism sector.
The conference will be held within the framework of the 67th session of the United Nations Regional Commission for Tourism in Africa.
