BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) — In the next three to five years, China will have basically established an efficient tourism public service system featuring a complete structure, sound standards, smooth operation and high quality, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT).
The guidelines on improving tourism public services, jointly issued by MCT and eight other departments, aim to improve the capacity to provide tourism public services to weaker areas, peak periods and groups with special needs to ensure that the system is compatible with the quality development of the tourism sector.
The guidelines state that tourism centers need to optimize their layouts and strengthen online tourism information services, and also call for paying attention to the construction of tourism transportation infrastructure and tourism transportation services.
The guidelines also call for improving public services for inbound tourism, strengthening emergency rescue services in the tourism sector, and promoting the integrated development of public cultural services and public tourism services.
The MCT committed to making efforts to study and formulate relevant standards for tourism public services and establish regular supervision and control mechanisms.
