The “Hawk Tua” girl is nothing compared to this guy!
We became his biggest fans after seeing his love letter to Bar Harbor on TikTok.
While tourist season is in full swing in Bar Harbor, things get pretty quiet in our favorite coastal town come late October, so since it’s Flashback Friday, we thought we’d revisit one of our most beloved posts about our favorite Maine destination.
A few years ago, while I was casually surfing the internet, I came across a TikTok video that made me smile.
The tourist, who’s clearly from New York or New Jersey, visited Downtown Bar Harbor and posted a seriously adorable 49-second video of some of her favorite views during her walk: To say she loved the small-town New England charm would be an understatement.
This guy is a TikTok star. He goes by the name zzzzacharia and has a whopping 4.1 million followers! If you want to laugh or smile, check out his videos!
While in Maine, he also visited Acadia National Park.
A video of Downtown Bar Harbor features Beads Yarns, Candies & Sweaters. A close-up of the Jordan’s Restaurant sign elicits a delighted response: “Those are such nice muffins.” He then says (in a thick accent): “Everywhere you go, there’s a Whaaaalgreen’s.” He raves about Little Village Gifts, Agamont’s public park and gazebo, and the “Baa Haaba” shirts in the gift shop. His only failings are the sea kayak tours, which apparently aren’t his thing. He falls in love with the “cool little town clock” in the middle of Main Street. He falls head over heels in love with the corgis he spots. And he raves about the homemade soaps and jars of strawberry jam from Jordan Pond.
My favorite part of this video is at the end when he is buying a refrigerator magnet for Acadia National Park and he says, “I got the magnet, but nobody talked to me.” Amazing.
Audio clips of his highly quotable comments are played on the radio all the time. This guy deserves his own talk show. At the very least, give him a job with the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce!
If you are visiting Maine from another state and are so impressed with everything, please come back any time and encourage your friends to come too.
