Following a national search, the City of Sedona has hired Andrew Grossman as its new tourism manager. Starting July 1, 2024, Grossman will manage a new tourism program created in 2023 as part of the city’s official tourism management organization (DMO) designation.
Grossman has over 10 years of experience in the professional tourism industry.
Grossman most recently served as Director of Destination Development for the Colorado Tourism Office. Working closely with destinations such as Aspen, Steamboat Springs and Durango, he has unique insight into the challenges and opportunities facing established destinations in the Western U.S. Grossman has also worked for Travel Oregon and Sustainable Travel International.
“Working directly with over 50 destinations across Colorado and Oregon has given me insight into the many challenges places like Sedona face, and I look forward to applying all the lessons I learned to this new environment,” Grossman said.
“Andrew’s experience supporting the communities we serve and his deep understanding of the importance of working closely with the Arizona Tourism Office make him the perfect person to take our tourism program to the next level. We’re excited to see how he will grow and develop the program,” said Communications Director Lauren Brown.
The tourism program has had many significant accomplishments in its first year, including establishing a tourism advisory committee made up of both resident and business representatives, implementing two destination marketing campaigns, developing a strategic plan, beginning a branding process, and now hiring a tourism manager.
