With 528 rooms and suites, JW Marriott Essex House serves thousands of visitors each month. In particular, the hotel recently unveiled a new suite collection called the “Central Park Suite Collection,” consisting of three luxurious suites that pay homage to the hotel’s iconic “forecourt” (Central Park). This included the gorgeous pink Meadow Terrace Suite we checked into for a long weekend.
Each newly reimagined suite tells a story through thoughtful design. This includes artwork and details inspired by a handful of iconic figures who helped shape New York City’s cultural landscape. Each collection features stunning vistas enhanced by beautiful artwork and is an example of JW Marriott’s ethos for a mindful and classy approach to luxury.
Known for her luxurious and extravagant eye, Meadow Terrace Suites was inspired by the legendary Elsie de Wolfe, Manhattan’s renowned interior designer and socialite. The feminine suite, perfect for a girls’ trip, has a large private terrace overlooking the entire park, and is a sophisticated space that lets in the outside air. The elements support Elsie de Wolfe’s balance of refined luxury with meticulous attention to detail. This begins with a foyer decorated with artwork adorned with flowers and peacocks and an intricately designed marble casing spanning the two bedrooms, three bathrooms, lounge and kitchen.

Breakfast is served at South Gate Bar and Restaurant.
Although there are countless dining options nearby and throughout the city, in-hotel dining is not the focus. Breakfast is served in the South Gate Bar and Restaurant or in the Club Lounge for guests living in suites and certain other room categories. From eggs, bacon, and sausage to fruit, pancakes, and coffee (and true New York style) toasted bagels. Prepare your guests for the day with a hearty buffet.
The rest of the time, South Gate Bar and Restaurant is a hybrid cocktail bar, relaxed restaurant, and lounge serving American favorites prepared with style based on classic French techniques. We also offer classic cocktails with a modern twist for a nightcap or a night on the town. Next door is Loi Estiatorio, serving Mediterranean seafood by celebrity chef Maria Loi, nearby American steakhouse Marea, a two-Michelin-starred Italian outpost, and Greek cuisine at Restaurant Daniel.
