U.S. Sen. Todd Young, R-Ind., is encouraging Hoosiers to visit Indiana Dunes National Park, or any of the 63 national parks, over the next seven days.
The two-term senator is among the sponsors of a Senate-approved resolution designating the week ending April 28 as “National Parks Week.”
“Hoosiers are proud of the Indiana Dunes National Park, which serves as a great example of the vast landscapes, wildlife and history that national parks offer throughout our country. During National Park Week, we celebrate the Indiana Dunes National Park and America’s great outdoors,” Young said.
Each national park is sponsoring a series of events to celebrate National Park Week. Among the activities at Indiana Dunes National Park is an Earth Day cleanup of the park beginning at 9 a.m. Monday at the Visitor Center, 1215 N. State Road 49, Porter.
