National Park Service app
Features
The NPS app was created by National Park Service staff who are experts in national parks to help you get the most out of your visit. The NPS app takes trusted information from park rangers and combines it with an impressive suite of features. Here we briefly explain some of their features.
Interactive Map: Each park has a detailed map with points of interest, along with roads, trails, and other information to plan your trip.
Park Tour: What to see? A self-guided tour will take you to points of interest within the park. Discover popular destinations as well as off-the-beaten-path locations. It’s like having a ranger by your side to guide you on your trip, suggesting places to go, directions to get there, and things to do once you get there.
Amenities: It’s the little, and sometimes not so trivial, things that can make or break a park visit. Learn where to find and access transportation, dining, restrooms, shopping, and more.
Accessibility: The app provides a fully accessible experience with tools to help visitors with accessibility needs, including audio descriptions of exhibits along trails, roads, and in visitor centers.
Offline use: Don’t have internet access? No problem! Download content from across the park for offline use. This is especially useful if you’re exploring remote areas of the park or are concerned about data limits.
Share your visit: Tell your friends and family about the fun things you did by creating and sharing virtual postcards with park scenes.
Things to do: What do you like to do in the park? Hiking? Why not take a bus tour or scenic drive? Visiting a museum? Would you like to join the Ranger Program? How to become a Junior Ranger? Discover all the fun, entertaining, and educational activities the park has to offer.
News, alerts, and events: What’s happening? Get news and events for all parks or a specific park of your choice.
