OCALA, Fla. — People across the United States will celebrate Earth Day on Monday.
This special celebration has been going on for over 50 years.
Earth Day focuses on raising awareness to respect nature.

National Park Service officials are taking creative steps to encourage people to get outside.
“Park RX” is a community health initiative that asks doctors to write “Park Prescriptions” to support patients’ mental and physical health.

It can serve as both a primary and an adjunctive treatment.
“We can visit and prescribe people who have stressful problems or need rehabilitation, we can take them to national parks and other parks, we can have fun getting them through recovery, and they can recover again.” “It lowers stress levels and allows them to focus on their own well-being,” said National Park Service Director Chuck Sams.
