Fresno and Clovis are surrounded by three of California’s most beautiful national parks: Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon. There are hundreds of trails to explore. Where to start? To narrow it down, we asked our staff for their favorite trails. Here’s what they said:
Mirror Lake Trail – Easy
The Mirror Lake Trail is a family-friendly 8-mile loop trail located in Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park. This is our research specialist Dylan’s favorite hike. Beautiful scenery reflected on the crystal clear surface of the lake. Trails can be a little muddy after rain or snow. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
General Grant Trail – Easy
Hike the General Grant Trail in Kings Canyon National Park to see Nation’s Christmas trees year-round. The 0.7-mile loop trail is perfect for families and those looking for an easy hike with great views. Haley, our director of marketing, says this is her favorite trail. Dogs are not allowed on the trails.
Zumwalt Meadow – Easy
Zumwalt Meadow is CEO Lisa’s favorite hike in Kings Canyon National Park. The 1.5-mile trail winds through beautiful meadows surrounded by towering mountains. The trail is currently closed due to this winter storm, but note that it will reopen here. Dogs are not allowed on the trails.
Watchtower Trail – Moderate
Sequoia National Park’s Watchtower Trail is a 13.3-mile trail that offers spectacular views year-round. Jackie, our creative content specialist, says this is one of her favorite exploration courses. The whole route is quite steep. The trail winds through the forest and along the mountainside (watch your step). Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
Moro Rock – Moderate
Jenny, our Events and Services Coordinator, loves hiking Morro Rock in Sequoia National Park. The 0.8-mile trail leads hikers to stunning views of the mountains and forest. It’s a popular trail, so be sure to visit it if you’re in the park. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
Mariposa Grove Trail – Moderate
As you walk along the Mariposa Grove Trail in Yosemite National Park, you’ll see iconic sequoia trees. The 10.7-mile trail offers picturesque scenery and is a favorite of Veronica, our sales manager. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
Vernal Falls – Hard
Vernal Falls is a must-hike when visiting Yosemite National Park. The 5.1-mile trail has some steep inclines, but is well worth the effort. Our Vice President Vanessa loves this trail. Enjoy views of the rushing waterfall and valley. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.
