New England is buzzing with excursions during the summer, and according to Travel + Leisure, two local destinations are among the top places to visit around the world in July.
Check out Newport Harbor Island Resort, debuting this spring after a $50 million renovation.
The travel magazine released a list of the 15 best places to travel in July, which included New Hampshire and Newport, Rhode Island. The list also includes Paris. Queensland, Australia.and the Outer Banks of North Carolina
Home to the White Mountains, Great North Woods and Lakes region, New Hampshire is full of summer excursions like boating, swimming, hiking, camping and fly fishing, the magazine writes. The Lakes Region is home to more than 270 bodies of water, including the popular Lake Winnipesaukee.
Travel and Leisure magazine wrote, “Whether your ideal summer vacation is in a lakeside cabin, mountainside lodge, or quaint town, New Hampshire has everything you could want.”
According to the magazine, the seaside city of Newport is also full of summer fun.
“With its gorgeous Gilded Age mansions and beautiful beaches, Newport is a lovely summer destination,” says the publication. “Tourists and residents alike enjoy strolling the scenic Cliff Walk, biking along Ocean Drive, browsing the Farmers’ Market, and picnicking on the beach.”
The Newport Classical Music Festival, a 55-year tradition, runs from July 4th to July 21st.
