Travel experts advise putting together a budget and itinerary to estimate the cost of hotels, activities, transportation, food, and other purchases. We looked for free or low-cost activities and considered whether cheaper accommodation was available. With that in mind, here are some of the most affordable vacations that are perfect for couples.
mazatlan, mexico

In Honolulu, you can spend time at the beach, go hiking, or visit Pearl Harbor National Monument and the USS Arizona Memorial for free. Tours of the White House are also free, but you must request a reservation at least 21 days in advance. For a budget-friendly meal, head to fast-casual spots like Chef José Andres’ vegetarian restaurant Beefsteak, or try his famous half-smoked chili at the historic chain Ben’s Chili Bowl. Hotels in the capital can be pricey, but staying in nearby Alexandria, Virginia can save you money and allow you to explore another fascinating city.
