A vision for a new tourism landscape for the region – Magnetic Media

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 7, 2024) – The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) will highlight the region’s tourism landscape at the 3rd Caribbean Travel Forum on Monday, May 20 in Montego Bay, Jamaica. We aim to reconsider.

Kicking off with this year’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, this annual event will bring together leading regional and global thought leaders to discuss tourism business opportunities and success strategies in the Caribbean, the hub of the global travel industry. Let’s discuss.

Attendees will have the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge from renowned speakers including noted travel author, author and destination development advisor Doug Lansky, who will deliver the keynote address and explore the evolving landscape of Caribbean tourism. Share your insights and perspectives on navigating. The author of 10 books, Lansky also writes for some of the world’s most prestigious travel publications.

CHTA President Nicola Madden Greig will share key data and insights during her ‘State of the Industry’ address, including data from CHTA’s recently released Annual Performance and Outlook Survey. The study focuses on the resilience and growth of the Caribbean tourism industry, with overwhelmingly positive results. It also highlights continuing challenges that require attention if the region’s key economic drivers are to grow.

Her presentation will also detail projections for new development in the region following the official release of the CHTA Construction and Pipeline Report. Additional data on international and regional trends shaping the tourism landscape will also be shared.

Insights on tourism business will be shared by several key public and private sector stakeholders including:

Kenneth Bryan, Minister of Tourism and Ports of the Cayman Islands and President of the Caribbean Tourism Association

Edmund Bartlett, Jamaican Minister of Tourism

Natalya Milenko, Chief Economist, Caribbean Region, World Bank Group

Sheila Johnson, CEO of Salamander Hotels and Resorts

Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman, Sandals Resorts International

Frank Wolfe, Hospitality Financial & Technology Professionals (HFTP) CEO

Olivier Ponti, Director of Intelligence and Marketing, ForwardKeys

The forum’s topics include leveraging data insights, enhancing multi-destination marketing, promoting intra-Caribbean travel, leveraging technology for innovation, improving operational efficiency, expanding tourism partnerships and aligning the workforce. Covers a wide range of topics essential to the success of the tourism industry. market constraints and the adoption of new market penetration strategies;

Additionally, the event will include the CHTA Awards Luncheon, which will honor the achievements of Caribbean Hotelier of the Year, Destination Resilience Award Winners, and President’s Award Winners for Caribbean Tourism Excellence.
