Alipay+ signs agreement with Korea Easy Payment Foundation and Jeju Tourism Organization

Alipay+ announced that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Easy Payment Foundation (KEPF) and the Jeju Tourism Organization (JTO).
According to an official announcement, the partnership aims to enhance the travel experience of international travelers exploring Jeju Island by providing convenient digital payment services and exclusive offers.

The agreement brings together 11 Alipay+ partner e-wallets including Alipay in mainland China, AlipayHK (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China), MPay (Macao Special Administrative Region, China), TrueMoney (Thailand), Touch’n Go eWallet (Malaysia), and OCBC Digital. will be available to users. (Singapore), Changi Pay (Singapore), Hipay (Mongolia), HelloMoney and GCash (Philippines), Tinaba (Italy) can be used at ZeroPay merchants across Jeju Island by scanning the ZeroPay QR code at the merchant’s counter. Restructuring the tourism sector

The number of foreign tourists who visited Jeju Island from January to March 2024 was 377,734, an increase of 532.5% from 58,609 in the same period in 2023, the statement said. He also noted that the number of foreign tourists visiting Jeju Island exceeded 100,000 for the first time since February 2020. Every month for 3 consecutive months.

Alipay+ officials commented that with the number of overseas travelers visiting Jeju Island on the rise, this partnership aims to contribute to the recovery of inbound tourists to Jeju Island and the revitalization of local businesses.

Additionally, the agreement aims to encourage foreign tourist consumption by facilitating QR code-based transactions, thereby promoting economic growth for local communities.

Officials from the Korea Easy Payment Foundation said the foundation aims to further expand cooperation with domestic payment companies and develop a seamless payment infrastructure that integrates domestic and international services.
