With nearly 200 countries and territories around the world, there are plenty of destinations for intrepid travelers to explore. However, due to a mix of conflicts and other security concerns, many of these countries are currently on the UK Foreign Office’s travel ban list. Traveling against Foreign Office advice means your regular travel insurance will immediately become invalid. Additionally, if consular assistance is required locally, it is likely to be difficult to obtain. In some countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also advised against all but essential travel. That means you need to rethink your vacation plans. The following destinations are on the no-travel list:
What is the Foreign Office’s official advice on traveling to Israel?
Due to the conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all but non-essential travel to large parts of Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories, as well as other parts of the country. The “no-travel” areas include Gaza, the West Bank, and areas bordering Syria and Lebanon. A complete and up-to-date list can be found on the Foreign Office advice page.
If you are currently in the country for non-essential reasons, we recommend that you leave if it is safe to do so.
