The event provided an opportunity to showcase Rockland’s attractions to travel industry professionals.
POMONA, NY – The Rockland County Economic Development and Tourism Office, in collaboration with Alon Tourism Solutions, is pleased to announce the first-ever Familiarization Tour and Marketplace (FAM) event on June 3-June 4, 2024. The FAM Tour will feature an extensive itinerary with travel industry professionals visiting numerous destinations, including Roundtable Brewery, Garner Historic District and Garner Art Center, Haverstraw Brick Museum, Holocaust Museum and Palisades Center.
“It’s always a pleasure to showcase Rockland County’s tourism assets, which will continue to have a positive economic impact on the county for years to come,” said Rockland County Mayor Ed Day.
“We’re excited to welcome tourism industry professionals to FAM Tours and the Marketplace,” said Lucy Radzeposki, director of economic development and tourism for Rockland County. “This will allow them to experience the county firsthand and, by adding it to their tour itinerary, open the door to new business.”
This special event provided a unique opportunity for Rockland County attractions and tourism stakeholders to showcase their services to travel industry professionals interested in attracting visitors to Rockland County.
“Growing tourism creates economic impact, revitalizes communities, creates jobs and grows local businesses,” said Jennifer Ackerson, president and CEO of Alon Tourism Solutions. “Tourism is New York’s third-largest private industry, generating billions of dollars in economic impact each year. Our goal is to ensure Rockland County businesses have a major share of this vibrant market.”
The tour also included a Marketplace networking reception where Rockland County tourism stakeholders shared their products and services and laid the foundation for long-term partnerships.
“We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Aaron and Rockland County for the wonderful site visit. Your efforts allowed us to experience as much as possible during two busy but productive days. We truly enjoyed each visit, the food and beer tastings, and interacting with future tourism and hospitality partners,” said Isabel Mary, Owner of MAD Tours & Events.
