(WFRV) – Three Wisconsin craft brewers have been named among the top 50 U.S. craft brewers of 2023.
The Brewers Association of America has released its annual list of the top 50 craft beer producers and brewers overall in the United States based on beer sales volume. Of the top 50 overall brewers in 2023, 40 were small, independent craft brewers.

“The distribution industry remains competitive, but we continue to see success stories and room for growth across the Top 50 list,” said Bart Watson, vice president of strategy and chief economist at the Brewers Association. “Even in times of slow growth, the strongest brands still resonate with beer lovers, regardless of company size or location.”
New Glarus Brewing Co. was Wisconsin’s highest-ranked entrant, ranking 11th in craft beer brewing and 21st overall in brewing. Home to the famous farmhouse ale “Spotted Cow,” New Glarus Brewing Company makes its name through limited-time releases and annual favorites like “Moon Man,” “Two Women,” and “Raspberry Tart.” is known. ”
New Glarus Brewing Co. was followed by Stevens Point Brewery, which ranked 19th in craft beer brewing and 29th overall in beer brewing. Stevens Point Brewery also has popular annual selections such as “Special Lager,” “Drop Dead Blonde,” and “Amber Lager.” The business also offers several seasonal beers, the most famous being the “Oktoberfest” beer.
Wisconsin’s final entry belonged to Minhas Craft Brewery, which placed 29th in the craft brewing category and 39th overall in brewing. Best known for its Boxer Boxer Lager, Minhas Craft Brewery also produces hits such as Lazy Matt Farmhouse Ale, Hoover Bock, 1845 Pils, and Swiss Amber.

DG Yuengling and Son Inc., Boston Beer Co. and Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. were the top three craft brewers. Among the top 50 brewers overall, the top three included giants Anheuser-Busch, Molson Coors and Constellation.
