BREWSTER – The Chamber of Commerce discussed the selection of potential sites for new information kiosks on city property last Wednesday at its regular monthly meeting on May 8th. The Okanogan County Tourism Council provides kiosks in cities across the county, and there are already several in Pateros. , Tonasket, Oroville.

Chamber President Anna Marie Dalby distributed photos of what the kiosks would look like and said OCTC is in the process of installing kiosks in Winthrop and Mazama, followed by Brewster, Omack and Loomis taking the opportunity. I explained that I was waiting.

Conconnerie is also on the list, but the site where the kiosk will eventually be built is currently occupied by a large construction crew.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Hugo Gomez, owner of Gomez Landscaping and Los Paisas Stores, has offered to assemble and install the kiosk once the location is determined.

Installing kiosks and visitor information signs throughout the county is just one of OCTC’s ongoing projects. Others include:

Publication and distribution of County-wide AG Guides. Hospitality training for front-line employees. Advertise in collaboration with his OCTC members in targeted publications such as Northwest Outdoors, Northwest Travel, SnowWest, SnoFlyer, Outdoors Northwest Snow Guide, Cross Country Skier, Master Skier, and SkiTrax. Exterior panel advertising for buses in the Seattle metropolitan area. Continued social media efforts on Facebook and Twitter. County website revisions and OCTC search engine optimization. Continued revision and distribution of the County Travel Planner. Set up a booth at a trade show in a specific market.
