Kenneth Bryan, president of the Barbados-based Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), said the CTO’s annual State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC) 2024 will be held in the Cayman Islands in September.
He said the event, which will be held from September 2 to 6 and has the theme, “Caribbean Tourism – Our Lifeblood”, will bring together regional and global leaders, thought leaders, decision makers, stakeholders and influencers to address key issues shaping Caribbean tourism.
According to organizers, SOTIC 2024 is scheduled to begin with the CTO’s business agenda on September 2-3, including the board of directors and ministerial council sessions.
This year’s Regional Tourism Youth Conference will be held on September 5th and will feature “Young Ministers of Tourism” aged 14-17 from CTO member states and regions.
“We are thrilled to be hosting this prestigious event in the Cayman Islands this September,” said Bryan, who is also British Overseas Territories Minister for Tourism and Ports.
“It is an honor to bring together the best and brightest minds in our industry to tackle important challenges, explore innovative solutions and chart the future course of Caribbean tourism. I also look forward to showcasing the Cayman Islands’ hospitable culture and exceptional brand of hospitality to delegates from the region and around the world,” he added.
According to organizers, SOTIC 2024 will offer a rich and diverse program featuring presentations from leading executives in the fields of technology, aviation, cruise and sustainability. These industry leaders will share their insights on the latest trends and innovations shaping the future of Caribbean tourism.
The CTO said the future-looking presentation will explore the artificial intelligence (AI) revolution in Caribbean travel, examining how AI will transform customer experience, operational efficiency and destination management.
“Tourism is the region’s main economic driver and SOTIC provides an important platform for strategic discussions to foster competitiveness and sustainable growth,” said CTO Executive Director Donna Regis Prosper.
“The Caribbean tourism industry has shown incredible resilience and adaptability in recent years, and now is the time to build on that momentum,” she added.
