Champagne House Thiénot will open a luxury wine tourism facility in Reims in 2025. The complex will include an interactive museum, a five-star hotel, a champagne bar and a rooftop terrace.
Champagne House Thiénot will soon see the fruits of its ambition: by 2025, the family-run house will have reached the culmination of a major project to transform its 5,000-square-metre building into a wine tourism destination. Located in the heart of Reims, the estate will feature an interactive Champagne museum and a five-star hotel with a Champagne bar and rooftop terrace.
The project, due to begin in 2022, aims to renovate the 18th-century mansion. Owned by Maison Thiénot for about 10 years, the site was originally planned for offices and business meetings, but the booming wine tourism industry in Champagne caused the company to reconsider its plans.
The world of champagne spread across five floors
Named “Le 3”, the complex will be a unique experience for champagne lovers. The five-storey facility will offer champagne-centric activities, including hands-on workshops to understand the champagne-making process. A wine library will showcase Maison Thiénot’s expertise by showcasing every wine produced at the estate since its inception, while a reserve wine cellar will ease the strain on Tessy’s production site. To cater for different types of visitors, the venue will also feature a children’s area, allowing parents to enjoy a quiet tasting.
More than just a wine tourism destination, Le 3 will also offer accommodation: around 12 hotel rooms will allow visitors to further their Champagne experience, as well as a spa and a 500-square-metre green rooftop with views of the cathedral and Reims’ historic centre. Currently, the complex does not have a restaurant, but as Maison Thiénot is a founding member of the prestigious Fondation Paul Bocuse, a professional kitchen has been designed to host Michelin-starred chefs.
