Cuyahoga Valley National Park — Ohio’s only national park near Cleveland — ranked 11th overall out of 63 parks.
Cuyahoga Valley ranked #1 for affordability, with visitors spending less than $20 on average. Ohio’s national parks rank highly due to their proximity to Cleveland and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
What are the top-ranked national parks in Travel Lemming’s data? Shenandoah National Park ranks #1 for the second year in a row due to high scores for biodiversity, affordability, weather, and accessibility it was done.
Surprisingly, the most famous parks such as Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Zion were not ranked highly. This is due to the crowding and affordability of visiting these parks.
Travel Lemming’s Meg O’Connor says the unique data rankings highlight parks that don’t necessarily get the attention they deserve.
“There are some truly amazing hidden gems in our park system. These rankings bring attention to some of the country’s lesser-known but absolutely awe-inspiring parks. I think it will help,” O’Connor said.
