A DTS team comprising inspectors and other officials and respective district administrations will inspect hotels, restaurants, eateries and travel agencies in Peshawar, Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad, Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Mardan, Nowshera and Charsadda. , and other tourist attractions in the state. We also checked the quality of food, snacks, rent, tourist amenities, and registration licenses of eateries and travel agencies.
The team surveyed more than 400 hotels, restaurants, eateries and travel agencies in the state and directed owners and managers to further improve the quality of food, accommodation and service to tourists.
Prior to the action, DTS officials met with respective local government authorities and informed them that action was being taken against unregistered hotels, restaurants, car rentals and travel agencies in the district.
Officials were also told that action would be taken against hotels, restaurants and eateries that served substandard and unhygienic food, edibles and snacks.
The team raided various bazaars and issued warnings to unregistered hotels, restaurants and eateries, instructing them to renew their registration licenses and imposing heavy fines in case of non-compliance.
The team also directed owners of car rentals, hotels, restaurants and travel agencies to immediately register their businesses with the DTS, or legal action would be taken against illegal businesses.
Officials said the tests will make it easier for tourists to get data on hotels, restaurants and travel agencies, and will also help boost tourism in the state.
KPCTA Secretary General Barkatullah Marwat praised the action of DTS and said such activities would be carried out in the upcoming tourist season to ensure better service to tourists and visitors of KP. .
He pledged to take appropriate steps for the convenience of tourists during Eid-ul-Azha and throughout the tourist season, adding that tourists can register their complaints through the tourism helpline 1422, which will be replied and addressed soon. Stated.
