TripAdvisor has chosen the best hotels to stay in around the world in 2024, and two hotels in the UAE have made the list.
The world’s largest travel guide platform announced the list of winners on Tuesday, with Ritz-Carlton Dubai and Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers in the top 20 rankings based on TripAdvisor reviews.
The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai is one of the leading hotels in the emirate of Dubai, opening in 1998 in the area that became The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residences. That was years before Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Blue Waters were born, and this resort was one of them. It is part of the hotel group’s first addresses in the Middle East and North Africa.
TripAdvisor travelers are most impressed with the swimming pool and children’s facilities at this luxury hotel, which ranks it as the 17th best hotel in the world, based on 7,359 reviews.
In the UAE capital, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers opened in 2001 after taking over an existing site from Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts. This skyscraper was popular with his 7,674 TripAdvisor reviewers, who raved about its infinity pool and swim-up bar.

The National previously reviewed the Hilton-owned hotel and was impressed by its stunning views and impeccable service.
The title of World’s Best Hotel in 2024 goes to Hotel Colline de France, a boutique hotel located in the Brazilian mountain resort city of Gramado. This property is known for its attentive service and French elegance, and has been ranked in TripAdvisor’s Top 5 for three consecutive years.
Second place goes to Maldives’ adults-only resort, Oburu Select Lobigiri, and third place goes to Vietnam’s La Siesta Hoi An Resort and Spa.

Other notable top 20 lists include Candi’s Windy Woods in Chithirapuram, India, and two properties in Turkey: Romance Istanbul Hotel and Voyage Belek Golf and Spa in Belek.
“According to TripAdvisor reviewers, the world’s best hotels all meet the needs of travelers seeking accessible luxury and unique, customized experiences,” Mitchell added.

The number one hotel to check into in the United States is the Shore Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Voco Dubai The Palm narrowly missed out on being ranked among the world’s top 20 pet-friendly hotels, with Palm West Beach Hotel coming in at number 21.
Banyan Tree Hotel Group has been awarded the Sustainable Award after Banyan Tree Escape, Buahan in Bali, was awarded the award as the world’s most sustainable hotel. Guests who visit here are impressed by the sustainably grown food and the natural environment of the Jungle Resort.
And the Maldives has been crowned the world’s best wellness hotel. Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is a tropical sanctuary in Raa Atoll that is popular with TripAdvisor reviewers for its expansive wellness center. It was also ranked #1 all-inclusive hotel in the world in the platform’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards.
