GAYLORD — The Gaylord Area Convention & Tourism Bureau has announced that Gaylord City Councilman Jordan Aulie is the recipient of the 2024 Trailblazer Award.
The tourism bureau’s board selected Oley for his work in bringing a new vibe to downtown through the Downtown Gaylord Summer Concert Series.
“Jordan’s passion for uplifting downtown is undeniable. He helped Gaylord win second place in the 2022 Consumers Energy-sponsored ‘Put Your Town on the Map’ contest; funds were used to launch the Art in the Alley project. Jordan was also instrumental in bringing the Downtown Music Series to Alpine Village. Not only is live music a great attraction for visitors, it creates a sense of unity within the community. Jordan’s efforts in organizing this free (and fun) entertainment option demonstrate his dedication to promoting tourism in Gaylord,” the department said in a statement.
The award, presented annually at the State of Tourism Luncheon, was established to recognize an individual or group who has made significant contributions to improving the tourism product in Gaylord/Otsego County and the surrounding area. The honor not only recognizes the contributions of the recipient, but also aims to bring greater awareness to the many tourism-related improvements being made every day.
