McMaster said people go to the beaches, eat, and golf, an industry that brings in about $30 billion a year, according to the state tourism board. This comes after the Palmetto State had two record-breaking summers of revenue. The average cost for a hotel or short-term rental in South Carolina was about $111 last year, a 26% increase from 2019’s average of $89.
