The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and GhanaWeb on Friday, June 7, 2024, agreed to forge a collaborative relationship through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote events and activities organised by GTA.
The signing of the MoU took place at the Ghana Tourism Board headquarters and was signed by the CEO of Ghana Tourism Board, Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, and CEO of GhanaWeb, Mr. David Antwi.
Both organisations are committed to promoting tourism, cultural exchange and engagement with expatriates through GhanaWeb’s wide reach and strong diaspora readership.
Proposed areas of cooperation include:
a. Return Conversation Platform
The Return Conversations platform will foster dialogue, knowledge sharing and engagement on diaspora issues. It will host quarterly forums for stakeholders.
GTA and GhanaWeb will jointly support and participate in the platform and engage in regular mutually agreed upon conversations.
b. Cross-promotion of the “GH December” campaign
GhanaWeb will be leveraging its extensive reach to promote the GTA’s annual ‘December in GH’ campaign.
The campaign will attract tourists and African immigrants from around the world to Ghana during this season. GhanaWeb will be recognized as the official media partner of December in GH. A December in GH page will be created on GhanaWeb to disseminate information about the event.
c. Beyond the GhanaWeb Returns Page
GhanaWeb will create a dedicated section on its website for the “Beyond the” project, which will showcase relevant content such as articles, interviews, events and success stories related to diaspora engagement, investment and cultural exchange.

GTA will be coordinating a social media campaign from “Beyond the Return” through GH in December, sharing inspiring stories, event updates and compelling visuals and encouraging users to engage with the content using relevant GTA hashtags.
GTA, in partnership with the Ghana Investment Promotion Company (GIPC), will use GhanaWeb’s platform to promote investment opportunities in Ghana, focusing on sectors such as tourism, real estate, agriculture and technology, and encouraging overseas investors to set up business ventures in the country.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, CEO of GhanaWeb, Mr. David Antwi, said the company was excited to partner with GTA and believed the opportunity would deepen relations between the two organisations.
