On Saturday night, the closing ceremony of the week-long 2024 Hainan Island Carnival at the Ocean Flower Island tourist resort in Danzhou city featured a performance blending Dongpo culture, Danzhou folk music and volcanic coast elements, enthralling attendees.
For the first time, Hainan Province held a carnival in the summer, emphasizing the theme of organizers and guests sharing joy.
The festival featured more than 50 thematic activities, including a grand opening ceremony, a series of 11 key events and a spectacular closing ceremony. Inviting local residents and tourists to join the celebrations, the festival also attracted media representatives and travel industry representatives from across the country.
At the closing ceremony, the Western Hainan Tourism Association introduced the unique tourism resources of western Hainan through a comprehensive video presentation, and extended a warm invitation to travelers from all over the world.
Comprised of eight cities and counties including Danzhou, Dongfang and Qiongzhong, the alliance has been working to integrate tourism resources since its establishment in 2015. Through joint marketing efforts and a focus on differentiated development, the alliance has transformed western Hainan into a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
Following the promotion, the event held the 2024 Hainan Western Tourism Alliance OTA Products Launch Ceremony.
The newly launched special tourism routes focus on new tourism formats such as educational tours, health and wellness, forest exploration and adventure tourism. With an emphasis on private group tours and small group packages, these services aim to promote customized travel experiences and boost tourism consumption in western Hainan.
