It doesn’t take long to fall in love with a hotel room. Usually all you need is a big, comfortable bed and a clean, spacious bathroom.
However, this hotel room in Sydney unexpectedly turned me into a traveling princess.

When visiting a new city, most people prioritize location above all else. And in a city where public transport and walkability aren’t always the best (oh, Sydney, why didn’t you plan better?), this is absolutely important.
Sebel is located on Philip Street, literally close to everything you could want in this beautiful port town. Located right next to the CBD, close to Circular Quay, Harbor Bridge and the Opera House.

It is just 200 meters from the nearest St James’s train station and half a mile from stunning views of Circular Quay and a wealth of bars, restaurants and entertainment options.
There is also parking in the Wilson underground car park next door, and we all know that this is very convenient in a city like Sydney.
But, of course, some of you may just want to stay indoors and enjoy the luxurious rooms you’ve booked inside boutique hotels.
This property allows you to feel like you’re on an expensive, luxurious vacation without having to spend a fortune per night.

The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious and have a chic feel. There’s nothing worse than swiping your card on your hotel room door, taking a deep breath, and being disappointed when you see what’s on the other side of the curtain.
At Sebel, you’ll be thrilled. So, you don’t want to throw your luggage and belongings all over the place and make a mess. (But I would do it because it would make me feel at home).
The 86-room hotel has recently undergone a multi-million dollar renovation, with interiors hand-selected by expert designers. It combines modern design with a subtle homage to Sydney’s heritage.
If you’re like me and need your bathroom to be the highlight of your room, you won’t be disappointed. The room is large with beautiful mirror lighting (a must) and a removable shower head.
You may be in the middle of a busy street in Sydney, but you’ll soon forget it when the blackout curtains are drawn and you slumber in your huge, comfortable bed enjoying some peace and quiet.
When you’re finished with a beautiful night’s sleep and need a great meal, Sebel offers room service at Café Piccolo next door.
There is also an Italian restaurant “Bastardo” right next door. If you wish, you can keep your city escape or visit to Sydney within the confines of this one street.

Naturally, I forgot my toothpaste and had to google where I could get it before heading out. Luckily there is a convenience store just 100 meters from the street. Now it’s convenient.
Finally, one of the more important elements of a good hotel is the staff.
General Manager Lydia was truly passionate about her job, including wanting people to enjoy the best possible stay at The Sebel.
The front desk receptionist was also incredibly friendly and helpful, and was full of great tips for the area.
And my recommendation? Its prime location makes it an ideal destination for home-lovers looking for comfort and urbanites looking for adventure.
