With the feel of a resort on the edge of Qatar’s Arabian Gulf, the light-filled Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha excels in both sophistication and relaxation.
The 429-key Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha opens in late 2022 and is part of the Hilton Group’s luxury hotel collection. We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during a recent Qatar Airways and Discover Qatar press trip. I would like to share with you my impressions of luxury properties.
Check-in and after

My flight from Melbourne arrived late, just after 11pm. However, Doha’s 24-hour Hamad International Airport connects him to more than 170 destinations, so Doha hotel staff are accustomed to checking in his guests 24 hours a day.
When you arrive, your luggage will be removed from your car and your handbag will be passed through a security scanner to the front door. Check-in is done at the large front counter. Key-cutting and Hilton Honors WiFi password provision are quick and seamless, accompanied by a complimentary welcome arrival drink.
The room key wallet contains a QR code that, when scanned, displays hotel details.

Deluxe King Room at Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha.
I am staying in room 428, Deluxe King Room, Sea View. The porter asked permission to take my bag into my room and gave me some basic basics. Thanks for his advice on lighting. Hotel rooms can sometimes be a struggle. Bedroom, bathroom and wardrobe lighting and air conditioning are all controlled by his LED touchpad with simple and easy to understand icons and text. He showed me how the patio door worked and took me out to the balcony. There, you will find that the view overlooking the beach and pool is special, even at night.
The rooms are incredibly bright, bright and spacious. A king-sized bed with a white base and white leather headboard is offset by a wall of smooth, glossy white cabinetry with dark wood accent highlights. Incorporating Persian Gulf hues into the interior, a muted indigo and navy furniture color palette is featured throughout.

There’s a spacious table for two that you can use to eat or work (hidden cable and outlet sockets in an adjacent cabinet include power, HDMI, and USB outlets). Each bedside also has standard and high-power USB charging ports.
I love the large bathroom with marble floors, separate toilet area and bidet, double vanity, full-size walk-in shower, and full-size bathtub.

The toiletries were made by Bryedo from Stockholm. A full size pump pack was provided for the shower. All bathroom products such as dental kits, combs, and makeup pads were packed in natural cardboard.
The minibar contained only the basics such as Dilmah tea, Nespresso coffee machine, water and soft drinks. You can order from the minibar menu. Budweister beer costs 50 Qatari Riyals (about 21 Australian dollars). A bottle of Spanish Miguel Torres white wine costs 250 Qatari Riyal (about AU$105). On the in-room dining menu, a glass of Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand costs 99 Qatari Riyal (approximately AU$41).
Eating and drinking

There are several dining options within the hotel. One evening, I went to an Italian restaurant called Scarpetta and had pasta. Breakfast is served daily at his Bywater with indoor or outdoor seating. The buffet options are plentiful and include a wide range of international flavors and flavours. I love Qatar’s Sidr honey and fresh juice station. For those who want to drink local coffee, there is a self-service Arabic his coffee trolley.

Other options include Sushisamba, a blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian flavors; Peacock Alley offers light snacks, afternoon tea, signature morning pastries, and oysters and caviar at sunset. Meanwhile, Highmore Bar on the 11th floor is the place to enjoy sunset drinks with ocean views.
We offer extensive in-room dining, including an a la carte menu. In-room breakfast is served from 6 AM to 11 AM. All-day dining is available from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Facility
Outdoor pool area overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
The hotel has two swimming pools, which are manned by lifeguards and open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is also Wadi Lusail, a children’s playground area with waterslides, play equipment and climbing equipment. Kunu’s Kids Club is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Beachfront loungers are available from 7 a.m. until sunset. Swimming is prohibited at night.

Our hotel is conveniently located across from Place Vendôme Mall. Almost every luxury fashion and lifestyle brand has a store here, making you feel like you’re in Paris.
wellness
Indoor wellness pool area.
A stunning arc-shaped entrance to the Wellness Zone allows guests to step away from the hustle and bustle of the hotel and into the wellbeing area. Espa Life Spa has separate hydrotherapy pools for men and women, a steam room and a sauna. We spent some time here on our last morning before our flight back to Australia and found it very relaxing.

The fitness center, open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., includes a Zen Wellness Yoga zone on the terrace and the My Equilibria instinctive wellness training installation.
