How to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll find the elusive mechanic of fast travel. You will spend most of your time using it to traverse the world. You end up listlessly soaking up the scenery and getting frustrated because he has to cross the same road 50 times. However, it should be noted that while there are certainly ways to fast travel, neither of them are necessarily convenient.

In our Dragon’s Dogma 2 guide, we’ll show you how to fast travel in two different ways and explain the benefits (and limitations) of both.

There are two ways to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2: bullock carts and port crystals. You can also move quickly between specific locations. The map above shows the fast travel locations available in Fermund, the first region you’ll explore.

How to travel fast between cities by bullock cart

The easiest way to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is to hop on a bullock cart. The main advantage of fast travel by oxcart is that it’s cheap (100 or 200 gold per ride).

However, there is a restriction that the bullock carts only leave the cowshed in the morning, and if you arrive at the bullock cart at any other time, you will have to sit and wait in the cowshed. They’re slow too. You can doze off while sitting, but time is still passing in the background. However, that only really matters if you have a time-sensitive quest.

An even bigger problem with the bullock carts is that there are only two of them in Vermund, where they start, and they only go to three towns: Merve, the capital of Burnworth, and the checkpoint rest area of Batard. However, it is a good way to traverse the kingdom relatively quickly.

Your oxcart can also be attacked by monsters (in our experience, it will). If this happens, your ride will be interrupted, but as long as you don’t accidentally destroy the bullock cart in the scuffle, you’ll be able to return as soon as you defeat the bad guys. If the oxcart were to be damaged, you would have to complete the journey on foot.

How to fast travel to Port Crystal using Ferry Stones

Another method of fast travel is teleporting using port crystals. Teleportation is clearly faster than the cow, but it is also severely limited.

To use a Port Crystal, you must first find and activate it. There are two in Vermund. One in Burnworth and one in Herb Village (marked on the map at the top of this post). Once a port crystal is active, it becomes a fast travel destination. That’s all. You cannot interact with it other than activating it.

To get to the port crystal, you will need to use a ferrystone. These are fairly rare items that can be found in secluded treasure chests or received as quest rewards. He can also be purchased for 10,000 gold from some vendors.

You may also find port crystals as items. For example, Sacred He gets one as a reward during the Arbor’s “Trial of Archery” quest. These are reusable items that can be placed and taken out as needed. These act as portable port crystals. That means you need Ferry Stones to reach them. For quests that require a lot of backtracking, such as a series of difficult Sphinx riddles, these port crystals are some of the most valuable time-saving tools at your disposal.

You can have 10 of these unpinned port crystals active at once, but this is also very rare. (Sensing a trend yet?) On our journey, he discovered four port crystal items from three quests, and two more from exploration. For more information on how to get more Port Crystals, see our guide on where to find Port Crystals. The best places to place port crystals are also explained.

It also explains how to change your time zone, increase your inventory size, change your appearance, escape from prison, and change your occupation.
