TEHRAN – Kish Island is set to host the 2024 World Bodybuilding Championships in late September, an event expected to highlight the island’s tourism potential on the international stage.
Kish Free Zone Organization CEO Rahim Sarhangi, in a meeting with the president of the National Bodybuilding Federation on Sunday, stressed the importance of hosting the championship on Kish Island as it will be a rare opportunity to showcase the island’s tourism potential on the global stage.
“We are fully prepared to host the World Bodybuilding Championships in a grand and professional manner,” the CEO said, stressing that the island is ready to develop the necessary infrastructure for the tournament and provide a suitable urban environment.
Sarhangi stressed the importance of working with the Bodybuilding Federation to produce high-quality and engaging content to promote Kish tourist attractions globally.
He added that the time remaining until the tournament and the days to host international athletes will be a valuable opportunity to showcase Kish’s investment potential and attractiveness as a desirable tourist destination on the world stage.
“We inspected the hotel designated for accommodating athletes,” said Abdolmadi Nasirzadeh, president of the National Bodybuilding Federation, adding that Kish has the necessary infrastructure to host international competitions.
He added that more than 200 countries are members of the International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation and around 60 have already expressed their intention to take part in the KISHA World Championships.
The World Bodybuilding Championships will be held on Kish Island from September 23rd to 28th and will feature some of the world’s best bodybuilders.
