TEHRAN – The Iranian government on Monday held its first tourism roadshow in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi, aiming to strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.
The event was attended by key government officials and private sector leaders from both countries and showcased Iran’s diverse travel attractions, CHTN reported.
The roadshow featured speeches from Iran’s Deputy Minister of Tourism Ali Asghar Sharbafian, Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong, as well as prominent figures from the private sector.
During the roadshow, Vietnamese people who had previously traveled to Iran shared their experiences and introduced Iran as an attractive and diverse tourist destination.
“We hope that through this conference, the most honest image of Iran can be fully conveyed to Vietnamese travel agents,” said Ali Asghar Sharbafian, who spoke at the event. “In doing so, we can introduce Iran to the Vietnamese people and help Vietnamese people become more informed about Iran, further promoting cultural and tourism ties between the two countries.”
The session featured speeches from both Iranian and Vietnamese sides, followed by a presentation narrated in Vietnamese using artificial intelligence, followed by discussion and interaction between tourism experts from both countries.
Vietnamese attendees were also given promotional materials providing detailed information on Iran’s various tourist attractions.
Following the Iranian government’s unilateral visa waiver for citizens of 28 countries earlier this year, strategic efforts are underway to hold roadshows in these countries to promote the capabilities of Iran’s tourism industry.
The recent initiative, led by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts in collaboration with private sector stakeholders, marks the start of similar efforts in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam as the first host country.
The event marks Iran’s first roadshow in East Asia and is scheduled to continue in Malaysia and Indonesia in the coming days.
