TEHRAN – In a major boost to tourism growth, Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts has introduced more than 600 investment packages.
Officials in charge of tourism investment on Monday unveiled a comprehensive initiative aimed at strengthening the tourism sector through strategic investment cooperation.
Ahmad Tajali stressed that joint efforts between government agencies and the private sector have led to the development of 636 well-crafted investment packages to showcase the country’s tourism potential and attract local and international investors.
“It will not only identify and promote existing tourism assets,” he added, “but also create the right environment to attract qualified investors while facilitating the investment process.”
Tajali further elaborated on the collaborative nature of the effort, citing the involvement of various government agencies across different sectors.
Specifically, he noted that 184 investment packages have been formulated in collaboration with the private sector, demonstrating the business sector’s strong commitment to contributing to the growth and development of the tourism industry.
Furthermore, 143 investment packages were developed with the active participation and support of local governments, highlighting the importance of their involvement in tourism initiatives.
Furthermore, Tajali highlighted the specific focus areas of these investment packages, revealing that there are 125 packages dedicated to tourism related to water resources, hydrotherapy and water-based recreational activities.
Expanding the scope of cooperation, the Secretary-General outlined additional partnerships that contributed to the development of the investment package, including efforts with natural resource organizations, historic preservation funds, airport authorities, agricultural and land management agencies, and urban development and free zone authorities.
According to officials, the announcement of these 636 investment packages marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to revitalize and expand the tourism sector.
By leveraging the combined expertise and resources of public and private stakeholders, the initiative aims to attract significant investments, promote sustainable tourism development and position the country as a premier destination on the global tourism map.
