Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani recently met with a delegation of Egyptian and Saudi Arabian businessmen, during which he encouraged investment in tourist resorts, hotels and entertainment facilities across Iraq.
Al-Sudani stressed that Iraq boasts diverse tourism destinations, whose development is in line with the economic interests of other Arab countries. The government is actively promoting investment opportunities, especially in the housing sector and new city projects. Iraq, which needs around three million housing units, is moving towards creating integrated cities offering a range of services, entertainment and commercial facilities, linked to the capital Baghdad through an advanced transport network.
Al-Sudani stressed the important role that modern cities play in addressing the housing crisis, especially for low-income families.
The delegation included Hisham Talaat Mustafa, Chairman of TMG, Suleiman A. Al Muhaidib, Chairman of Al Muhaidib Group, the Group’s CEO Essam Abdul Qadir Al Muhaidib, the Group’s Development Manager Raed Ibrahim Al Medheim, Al Maysara Group Director Yaser Qasim Zaghir, and businessman Ahmed Talaat Hani, all of whom specialize in real estate development and the construction of integrated smart residential cities, as well as Abdulaziz bin Khalid Al Shamali, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Iraq.
