“See you in Ireland” was the message given to German business travel buyers attending a workshop and networking event in Hamburg this week.
As part of the ‘Meet in Ireland’ team, Tourist Ireland works with Fáilte Ireland and Northern Ireland Tourist Board to showcase Ireland as a world-class business events destination to top German buyers organising corporate meetings and incentive trips.
Eighteen Irish tourism companies specialising in business events will take part in the workshop, having the opportunity to interact and network with over 40 leading German MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) buyers responsible for organising international conference and incentive travel programmes.
The aim of the event is to introduce Ireland to influential German buyers, encourage them to choose Ireland for their future meetings and incentive trips and grow business events from Germany.
Tourist Ireland’s aim is to deliver thousands of commercial business event meetings this year, connecting Ireland’s tourism partners with international buyers to grow business events and support businesses across the island.
The message Tourist Ireland wants to convey to German buyers is that Ireland offers a compelling combination of world-class infrastructure, unique luxury accommodation, state-of-the-art facilities, magnificent scenery, the warmest of welcomes and fantastic hospitality, making it the perfect destination for corporate meetings, incentive trips and events of all sizes.
Siobhan McManamy, Market Director at Tourist Ireland, said: “The workshop and networking event in Hamburg provided an important platform to promote Ireland as a top business events destination. Business travel is high value and by its nature often takes place during the week or off-season, which aligns with Tourist Ireland’s strategy to increase international tourism receipts outside of the peak summer season.”
“We were delighted to have 18 Irish tourism companies in attendance, who delivered a productive business meeting and showcased the wonders of Ireland to influential German conference and incentive travel planners.”
