A delegation of travel journalists and influencers from the United States is currently touring the island of Ireland as guests of Tourist Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, and Northern Ireland Tourist Board. These journalists represent publications and online platforms with an LGBTQIA+ readership that reaches millions around the world. Their visit coincides with Dublin Pride, and they are eager to discover and showcase the diverse attractions and activities available to their readers. Additionally, they will be actively participating in the upcoming Dublin Pride Parade, adding their voice to the celebration of inclusivity and diversity.
Alison Metcalfe, North America head for Tourism Ireland, said: “We’re thrilled to invite a group of US travel journalists and influencers to the island of Ireland to experience Dublin Pride this year and see what it has to offer for LGBTQIA+ visitors. The articles and content they create and share will inspire our readers and followers to visit in 2024 and beyond.”
The group’s exciting schedule included the Lavender Walk Queer History Tour of Dublin, guided by activist and journalist Tony Walsh. They explored various attractions such as Killruddery House & Gardens, Game of Thrones Studio Tour, Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, Titanic Belfast and the open drag stage The Maverick. Along the Causeway Coastal Route, they enjoyed breathtaking views before arriving in Belfast, where they interacted with local playwright Dominic Montagu and took part in Quartered: Belfast, a Love Story, an outdoor audio theatre walking tour that reveals LGBTQI+ perspectives in the city. Tomorrow, June 29, the journalists and influencers look forward to attending the Dublin Pride Parade and soaking up its vibrant atmosphere.
