The “Best to the Guest” Tourism Excellence Awards recognize businesses and organizations that are committed to “excellent guest experiences, customer service, unique offerings and attention to detail that bring pride to St. Lawrence County.” The awards are selected based on nominations and reviews from Facebook, Tripadvisor, Google and Yelp. The “Best Destination Marketing Initiative” award recognizes efforts that implement outstanding tourism marketing initiatives that increase awareness and attract visitors to St. Lawrence County. Past winners include (2016) the Hammond Barn Quilt Trail.

(2017) Marswares Art Fest, (2018) Waddington Party in the Park: Bassmaster Elite Series, (2019) Ogdensburg International Airport, (2022) TAUNY, (2023) Massena Expeditions/Massena Fishing.

The Tourism Awards Dinner is open to regional leaders, tourism industry partners, businesses and stakeholders. This year’s dinner theme is “Sustainability, Education, Engagement” and will feature a keynote speaker on sports tourism, an ongoing grant-funded strategy in St. Lawrence County. The evening will also feature a networking happy hour and guests are invited to bring brochures, flyers and business cards to display and share.

Happy hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with live music by Jack Cuno, followed by dinner, presentations and an awards ceremony at 7:30 p.m. Reservations can be made by contacting the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce at 315-386-4000 or www.SLCchamber.org.
